Duo Plaisir has been performing in the Cumberland Valley area since 1991. The duo was established through the Cumberland Valley School of Music, where both members of the group are on the faculty. Duo Plaisir has played for private parties, weddings, galas, concerts and other special engagements. Mark is a very talented composer and has arranged some very beautiful original works for the duo. These selections are available on their CD entitled ‘Son Tendre’ which can be purchased at the Cumberland Valley School of Music, through both performers, or online at the M&M Studio store.
Mark Miller teaches classical guitar and audio recording – R.I.A. Certified Recording Engineer, I.C.S. Electronics Engineering, Music study at Montgomery College and H.J.C. Advanced theory and composition with C. Randall Williams, Classical guitar study with Chris Anderson. Mark has hundreds of original compositions in various styles including pop, rock, jazz, and classical. As well as performing with Duo Plaisir, Mark also plays with the CVSM Concert Jazz Band, and the Rock Group, Faze3. He is the owner of M&M Recording Studio.
Dottie Klein teaches flute, beginning piano and beginning guitar – B.A. Mu. Ed. from The College of New Jersey. She teaches piano at Cumberland Valley Christian School. Dottie has taught at Shalom Christian Academy as Band Director, Elementary Choral Director and General Music Teacher. She has also taught in the Bellmawr, N.J. public school and privately in the south Jersey area before moving to Chambersburg in 1990. In addition to Duo Plaisir, her performance experience includes solo performances for weddings, church services, and private community engagements.
