After purchasing a drum set
for the studio, I decided to do an album playing the drums myself. My
drum playing experience, other than banging on other people's sets, was
limited to programming them with sequencers. I recorded "Ridin' On The
Wind" first, a day or two after I got the set. I wrote the drum part out
and read it, trying my best to stay in time. As the song progressed, my
confidence grew and I remember thinking, "Hey, I can do this".
My brother Steve came to the studio one afternoon, and recorded the
drums on four of the songs without rehearsal. Thank-you Steve, there's a
"real" drummer on part of the album.
